Well, kinda Spring cleaning! Wiping the dust off the blog anyway. Thought I'd post an inspirational video clip, and a photo of a ring I finished last week.
hahahahahaha! Doesn't that look like fun? The top part is something I carved that never really made it on its own. I just combined it with a band I'd fabricated.
Does that cat have springs on its feet or what ? I can see how it jumps into the box but can't figure out how it jumps back out. And what is it with cats and boxes anyway ?
LOVE the ring, and think the interlocking links ring band is fabulous !!! There's one heck of a chunk of silver in that piece.
As a life long maker of things, I have explored many medium types before turning to jewelry. It has felt like coming home, in the immediacy and intimacy of the holding and creating of small objects. Jewelry allows one to hold and wear sculptural pieces. Success for me is when someone picks up a piece and says, "this feels good."

Cats doing goofy cat stuff! Always funny!
I love Maru and all his quirky antics.
I meant to say also that the braiding on the ring really makes it different and appealing.
